Transportation Alternatives Projects
Introduction
RTC will seek input from the public on projects being considered for funding through the federal Transportation Alternatives program within Clark, Skamania, and Klickitat counties. The public comment and review period is scheduled for April 7 through April 21, 2023. Public comments will be accepted using the comment link on this page.
The following list includes projects submitted to RTC for consideration, arranged alphabetically by jurisdiction. Eligible projects include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, safe routes for nondrivers, rails-to-trails, scenic viewpoints, community improvements, and environmental mitigation.
2023 Applications and Selections
- Summary Report
- Report of project selection recommendations to RTC Board of Directors (June 6, 2023).
- City of Bingen – Sidewalks Alder and Cedar Streets
- This request will design sidewalks along Alder and Cedar streets to complete critical missing sidewalks within the City of Bingen.
- City of La Center – Pacific Highway Shared Use Path
- This request will construct a shared use path from Larson Drive to Kay’s Subdivision, providing active transportation linkage between subdivisions to downtown La Center.
- City of Vancouver – Garrison Road Sidewalk Infill
- This request will construct sidewalks and buffered bike lanes along the east side of N. Garrison Rd. Project will include an enhanced pedestrian crossing.
- City of Vancouver – Hazel Dell Avenue and Burnt Bridge Creek Trail Crossing
- This request will complete a critical gap in the Vancouver trail network by creating a multi-use path and crossing between Burnt Bridge Creek and Discovery Trails.
- City of Stevenson – 1st Street Pedestrian Amenities & Overlook
- This request will construct pedestrian amenities connecting downtown Stevenson with the Columbia River waterfront. Improvements include sidewalks, path, crosswalk, overlook, and streetscape.
- City of Washougal – S 27th Street Shared Use Path
- This request will purchase right-of-way and construct a separated shared use path connecting east Washougal to Captain William Clark Park and the Dike Trail.
- City of White Salmon – Bluff Pedestrian Connector Corridor Trail
- Construct trail up the bluff from the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge to the city center of White Salmon via stairs and a pathway trail.
- Clark County – Highway 99 Sidewalk (NE 102nd Street to 104th Street)
- This request will construct curb, sidewalk, and curb ramps along the east side of Highway 99 and along the south side of 104th Street to complete gaps in missing sidewalks.
